  • A new APPLE A1185 battery comes in a discharged condition and must be charged before use (refer to the devices manual for charging instructions). Upon initial use (or after a prolonged storage period) the Laptop Battery may require three to four charge/discharge cycles before achieving maximum capacity.
  • When charging this APPLE A1185 Laptop Battery for the first time the device may indicate that charging is complete after just 10 or 15 minutes. This is a normal phenomenon with rechargeable batteries. Remove the APPLE Laptop Battery from the device, reinsert it and repeat the charging procedure.

How to Care for Deep Cycle Laptop Battery

Control the amount you discharge your Laptop Battery and don't discharge more than necessary. Deep cycle batteries are typically able to discharge as much as 80 percent of their stored power without suffering damage to their internal chemistry, but this greatly shortens their lifespan. If you can limit your Laptop Battery's average discharge to 50 percent, it will last about twice as long. Limit the average discharge to 20 percent, and it may last 10 times as long.
